A Home
The reason for the delay in updating the blog is that we’ve
been very busy the last 4 weeks moving into our new home! Father has once again
blessed us; we found a great home in a safe & desirable part of the city,
in great condition (brand new), a secure setting and a very reasonable rent. We
moved in just over a week ago, we needed to spend a couple of weekends giving
it a good clean through and then we had to source the bare minimum of furniture
(bed, oven etc.) in order to move in. The day after we moved in we welcomed our
first house guest and visitor from the UK, Alex; it was so lovely to catch up
with a friend from the UK and to be able to host him. We have two spare
bedrooms now so let us know when you are booking your tickets!

Serving at Beehive
We continue to settle into our roles at the Beehive
Project we serve at, Mark is improving systems across the project with his
Excel knowledge and Laura is continuing to support the Outreach Team including temporarily
managing them for 4 weeks until a new Malawian manager was recruited, a
learning curve managing a team of staff for the first time!
Learning more about the Heavenly Realm
Since we last blogged we had the privilege of being
invited to a 3 day Holy Spirit event aimed at refreshing ministry leaders. Two amazing
guys from South Africa facilitated the
event, and well it’s difficult to put into words how amazing and
transformational those days were but we learnt so much about living and ministering
from the heavenly realms which is where our citizenship is (Phil 3:20) and Eph
1:3 says that we are blessed in the heavenly realms. Around half of the attendees
of the event were part of our church here in Blantyre and we are so thankful to
Father that He has placed us in a church family that is pursuing the spiritual Kingdom
truths that is both of our heart & passion.
Lessons being learnt
Father made it clear before we arrived that our initial
season would be one of learning, and He is graciously and gently teaching us
many things in order to both draw Him closer to Him, but also to be more effective
and ready for what else He has in store for us in the coming months and years. Father
has been teaching us more about Him, and how His Kingdom works. Mark was
reading a book called “Strengthen Yourself in the Lord” by Bill Johnson, (which
he devoured in less than a day), and one of the things that struck him was about
the power of testimony. Testimonies are
important to encourage your faith, but they encourage others too. The testimonies we share have the power to
change the circumstances of others who may be in that very situation. One such
example is in healing. When we share the story of our, or someone else’s
healing, often God is present to do the same, even without prayer. As a result
we should be more expectant for God to move.
And thank you
We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank and
honour those of you who support us financially through one off gifts or monthly
sponsorship. Your generous financial sowing allows us to live out here and
serve. If anyone feels they would like to sponsor us on a regular basis or with
a one off gift we have a Giving Account with Stewardship, please see the ‘Support
Us’ page of this blog for details of how to give.
Thank you so much!
