Countdown to our Trip

Hello from Malawi - We hope you are all well!

Since our last update we have launched small discussion groups at both of Miqlat’s Hope Centres. These groups are aimed at the teenagers who are aged 16 years & over, and we’ve separated them according to their gender with groups not being more than 15. The aim of these groups is for us to build discipleship relationship with these teenagers in a safe & confidential environment where we hope over time they will feel able to open up about the challenges they are facing in their lives & allow us to support & minister to them, & speak God’s truth into their lives. What has been an eye opener to us is that there are lot less girls in the project at this age, and that is because, by the age of 16 a lot of them will be either married or not married but have children or are pregnant. This is due, in part, to an awful cultural ceremony (Initiation Ceremony) where girls are raped from the age of 11 years upwards to ‘prepare’ them for their future married lives. It is these kinds of issues we hope to tackle in the groups.

We are good friends with the YWAM base (Youth with a Mission) here in Blantyre and have been invited to teach their staff previously. They run Discipleship Training Schools twice a year and we had the privilege of being invited to speak and minister to their current school whose students are solely Malawians. It was a wonderful time with their students sharing about the Father heart of God, our identity as children of God and Sozo ministry. We had a great time of ministry seeing them set free from lies they had been believing about Father God & themselves and seeing them experience the love of the Father!

We’ve also been continuing with our weekly pastor’s training, Miqlat staff training and Sozo sessions which all continue to go well!

The evening on the 11th June will be a place to come to hear in more detail what we’re up to & to ask questions, if you’re local to Milton Keynes we’d love to see you there. We’ll also be in Harrogate at the European Leaders Advance in July if any of you are going we’d love to catch up.

We’d love you to pray for our upcoming trip to the UK, that Father’s blessing & favour be upon it & we accomplish all that He has for us during that time.

And the ongoing prayer request………..you guessed right, our visa! It has still not been issued & we’ve recently been experiencing some challenges with Immigration with living here without a visa. We’re resting in the fact that Father God is bigger than Immigration & His purposes will prevail, & amidst the challenges we are learning to trust in Him even more.
